The only reason I'm against mage tower appearances coming back is because they specifically announced that it was gone for goodĪnd they aren't bringing it back, they're bringing something like it back - I.E. Like the Chinese New Year store mounts - that's whatever. But removed from that lore, I kind of care less. Meanwhile, the Pandaren phoenixes only existed for the challenge mode in Pandaria - they weren't all over the place otherwise.īasically, if it's something I see roaming the world, I expect that if there's a mount version, it should be obtainable indefinitely. They're widely featured in the expansion, and there's no alternative for non-PVPers to get.

Blizzard finally understood the value of casual players having more access to gear. Go to Blue Tracker » Recent Forum Posts 05:17 PM. The 9.1. The quickest way to get there is using your Dalaran Hearthstone. Example - I don't believe the current "sin eater" dragons should be gladiator exclusive. Return to WoW and Get Shadowlands Free 19 hours ago. The Mage Tower is located at Deliverance Point in the Broken Shores, just next to Dalaran. I'm okay with some mounts being unavailable, but it's less quantity and more what they actually are. Gear sets are about player expression and style and shouldn't be permanently vaulted. I agree that those should come back, too. As far as I'm concerned, they should never have been removed. Unless Blizzard is planning to make weapons with similar thematic appearances of a similar quality of design, they should allow people to obtain the mage tower appearances. If their egos are so fragile that they can no longer feel accomplished because new players can now obtain the same appearance then I guess I just don't care that much. People who earned those appearances got to feel elite for the entire second half of legion and nothing can take away their pride in the memory of their experience earning them. If someone mains a paladin now, for example, who didn't play in legion odds are they are going to really want an awesome lightbringer skin or a unique flail weapon and shield rather than some weapon from sod that looks like a dk should be wielding it. The fact is the mage tower weapons are some of the coolest looking weapon skins in the game and some of a very limited amount of items that are thematically designed to represent a particular class. I have several heroic tier mounts and several of the mage tower appearances and I wish more people could have them. You can even farm the old mythic raid mounts at a reduced drop rate. Outside of a few mounts, and a handful of transmogs you can obtain almost any pve gear by farming old content.

But pve has almost never been limited in that way. I personally care less about the fact that pvp gear is time limited because pvp is not an aspect of the game I ever intend to interact with, but I don't see any reason why pvpers shouldn't be able to earn old rewards. So I'm not a fan of fomo game design in any capacity really.
